Located in Barakaldo (Bizkaia), the Maxus Formación language academy has updated the equipment of all its classes this summer with 75' and 65' Traulux TLM80 interactive monitors , which are used as a blackboard and tool to digitize the teaching of English. And Poly Sync 20 speakers, which serve as support for students to listen to classes remotely.

This Oxford Test of English certification examination center offers face-to-face and online classes to students of all ages, from 3-year-olds to adults, and English training for companies. Since it opened its doors in 2013, after detecting the need for English teaching focused on student satisfaction, Maxus Formación has opted for innovation.

“We are a "glocalized" training center, we think globally but act locally. We want the community in which we live to be trained for the future, to improve, to advance; and that our companies innovate and go abroad”, explains the director of the center, Max Minicucci. Trusting that they will achieve it with the use of new technologies, they decided to change their old projectors with the advice of the integrator AV Dinof and the supply of Charmex.

“We chose these solutions to improve the effectiveness of our methodology, the interactive monitors allow us to use less printed material and a better quality of online classes. The Poly Sync micro-speakers are used when we teach online, thanks to the omnidirectional microphone remote students can correctly hear both the teacher and the rest of their classmates who are in class in person”, he says.

At Maxus, they teach under a communicative methodology that follows the principle of communication, through which the entire teaching-learning process is carried out through direct communication. “The contents are taught according to the interests of the students, being the protagonist of all learning and the teacher their main support. With this type of methodology, the students understand that it is good to make mistakes, since through mistakes they will learn to form sentences and express themselves correctly, and this helps them to be aware of the progress that there is in their learning”, says Minicucci.

“In all the 6 classes we have a touch screen and all the teachers are trained to use it with the communicative methodology. Any student who has an English class at Maxus has access to this innovative technology”, highlights the director.

As he comments, since the implementation of the Traulux monitors they have readapted their communication methodology to digitize all the activities they carry out in class. For example, simulation games or role playing, work in pairs, games or language exchange; always focusing on activities that encourage communication or conversation in the language that the students are learning.

According to Max, the feedback has been totally positive, "particularly because the instructors are easy to use and do not require a lot of technological knowledge to teach classes effectively and efficiently," he tells us. Adding that all the teachers have received the necessary training, by Dinof and Charmex, to use this new technology.

Finally, he explains that during the academic year there will be more training sessions, "where together we will create examples of how to further improve our methodology thanks to these interactive monitors and wireless speakers."
