Although SIC already had five 14,000 lumen lamp projectors from Christie , as Francisco Javier Arcos Jiménez , head of R&D at this comprehensive service provider, points out, “we have always liked this manufacturer for the ease of use of its software. equipment, its image quality and its light power. If we add to that the good commercial treatment of their Charmex distributor and the technical service they offer, the choice has been very natural."
For this reason and to respond to the needs of the Granada Conference Center , SIC has just acquired two units of the Christie D20WU-HS model, a 1DLP laser technology device, with 20,000 lumens of brightness and WUXGA resolution, which it offers to this Andalusian facility. a powerful, reliable and cost-effective option for almost any heavy-duty application.
The choice of this display technology responds, as Arcos Jiménez explains, “to the fact that projectors tend to work better than LED screens at medical conferences, since the public spends many hours in the auditorium and the LED generates a certain amount of fatigue, something that It doesn't happen with projection.”
This specialist also praises the solid-state technology of the installed equipment: “with the laser, the machines are turned on and off instantly, and there is no need to wait for the lamp to cool down, nor to change it after a thousand hours of use. ”
In addition, it highlights the capabilities offered by Christie Twist, a proprietary software incorporated into the equipment to perform warping and blending in projection matrices. “It is very intuitive and allows us to control and project in edge-blending , without visible separations, multiple images on curved surfaces; in addition to warping them to facilitate their fit on screens of practically any size and configuration and with a very precise pixel-by-pixel alignment.”
According to the specific needs of the different events held at the Granada Conference Center, SIC rotates the projectors through the different rooms. “Sometimes we use them in rear projection and other times in front projection, also alternating the three sets of lenses that we have purchased (ultra short, medium and long distance).”
For example, they currently use this equipment “in blending in the main auditorium, with capacity for 2,000 people, which is equipped with a 14x 4.5 meter screen,” adds Arcos Jiménez. In short, these are very versatile equipment that are resistant to the harsh demands of rental .”
Another advantage that this manager highlights is the service provided by Charmex, a distributor of this manufacturer: “the truth is that we feel supported at all times by their team and we know that we can count on them to resolve any issue that arises” .
